Not only will Nate Diaz battle Jorge Masvidal to determine ‘the baddest motherf—ker in the game’ at UFC 244 in New York but Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will move up to face Sergey Kovalev in a light heavyweight boxing match from Las Vegas.

While exact broadcast details have not been revealed yet, it’s likely that Diaz vs. Masvidal will take place around the same time as Canelo will be stepping into the ring with Kovalev.

"The night we started talking about this date, we were going to take this date. Then a week later, I heard they were going to do that fight,” White said during the UFC 244 pre-fight press conference. “I think they’re crazy to go the same night as us on DAZN.

“It is what it is but if they time it right and they do this thing the right way, it could be very much like the other night when [Justin] Gaethje fought “Cowboy” [Donald Cerrone] and then the [Tyson] Fury fight was on after. So if they time it right, it could work out. But if they want to go head-to-head, they’re f—king nuts.” - Dana White

Who do you think will pull more PPVs?

PPV's no longer matter in the modern market. Both ESPN and the UFC have already acknowledged this.

The PPV model is dead in most countries.

That being said, more people will probably watch the boxing fight, but who the fuck cares? Just watch the fights you want and enjoy them. Shouldn't bother you which event pulls more views.

Let's see

p4p #1 Canelo vs Kovalev or two overrated bums who are fighting for the "BMF" belt

Canelo easy.
244 is pretty weak and wont pull over 300k.

I'm pretty sure DAZN won't be covering any UFC after this...

Canelo-Kovalev should be free on DAZN.

Masvidal-Diaz will do maybe 200k on ESPN+ PPV.

It seems to bother Dana White. I personally think 244 is not worth paying for.

I am going out on a limb here, I think Canelo/Kovalev has more viewers the BMF belt show.

I will most likely be watching Canelo/Kovalev if they are on at the same time.

Canelo vs Kolvalev is an amazing fight.

Nate vs Masvidal is arguably a fight between two journeymen.

But UFC hypemachine works, so Nate vs Mas.

UFC 244 live for me then I'll switch over to DAZN for the Kovalev-Canelo.
Boxing is my first love but I'll be damned if I miss so much as a second of Diaz-Masvidal.
