"The drone was flying at about 4,000 metres (12,000 feet) and was virtually invisible from the ground. It was possible to break the link with US operators with complex radio-electronic" technology, said Rostec in a statement.

The drone fell "almost intact into the hands of self-defence forces" added Rostec, which said it had manufactured the equipment used to down the aircraft, but did not specify who was operating it.

Interesting how the drone was grabbed almost intact. I wonder how much of the drone technology Russia can salvage and modify.

What will occur now? How will the U.S. and NATO respond to this as it can be seen as an act of aggression?

Iran downed a drone or two as well intact awhile back. Don't think much came of it besides some sabre rattling.

Funny thing, one of their nuclear scientists claimed they used an anti-gravity weapon to do it.

Interesting to see how this develops.

The tech they used to capture it sounds pretty wild.

Good, fuck drones. We shouldn't be using those things as much as we do.

Interesting to me that the drones seem so susceptible to interference technology. I assume that's what this is, not a crack of the OS but some sort of high-energy electromagnetic interference that breaks the link with the mothership.

Doubt anything will happen with it, that's part of the beauty of drones, you don't lose a life.

An "anti-gravity" weapon to bring something down to Earth? Science beyond my understanding.

True, you don't lose a life, but how much is it to build one of those drones? Possibly in the millions, I assume? I'm sure the US won't take that lightly and could possibly boost military efforts and propaganda. Maybe it was just a test to see what Russia is working with in terms of anti-drone technology.

Yeah, either he's bullshitting or he isn't.. Who the heck knows.

Maybe they should outsource to China

Eventually war will be fought with robot armies i'm sure.

Wasn't that the same person claiming he had unlocked the mystery of free energy? If I recall, didn't he do seminars and stuff like? Guess nothing came of it :D

Yes that's the guy! I linked a video above. He claimed to send all the designs to the various governments around the world for verification and that it would render air forces useless and maybe usher in a new era.

I haven't heard anything come of it either. Probably an Iranian propagandist.

Nah, not over a robot.

We'd have to assume that they had the technology via espionage anyway.

Theorizing is one thing, but actually seeing it in practice is another. Maybe they have other means of bringing a drone down. Does Russia have drones as well and if so how are their capabilities compared to American drones?
