I remember spending some time reading his blog as well as Maddox (best page in the universe) back in the day. They were both pretty popular.

Of course tucker ended up publishing books as well as a movie deal based on his book "I hope they serve beer in hell"

He was kind of popular amongst the PUA crowd as well because of how easily (he claimed) he got laid.

But years later I wonder how much of his exploits were exaggerated or bullshit. Now it's not out of the realm of possibility hes telling the truth but a lot of the stuff seems a little self serving.....like that dude we all know who greatly overblows everything he does.

What do you guys think? Thought I'd take is back to 2007

Movie was kind of funny. I assumed he was just a comedy writer. Like Frank Dux.

Did he claim all that shit was his true life story?

Huh I dont remember. I thought he did

Honestly it seems very plausible from a lot of things I've had done in my own life. The really interesting thought is how none of it could work anymore today, it's become this weird time capsule to almost a simpler time.

All fake or completely exaggerated. Even when I read it in my early 20s, I couldn't believe people actually believed any of it was true.
Read it around the same age. Gave me some laughs but I figured most was BS.

that brings me back, bought maddox book and hopes they serve beer in hell & nice guy finish last from Tucker Max
fun read tbh.

didn't think about thoses for the last 10 yrs tho

I think there mostly truth to it. I used to read his blog back in like 2005 and bought the book before the movie came out. I was pretty much over him by the time the movie came out though.

As an aside, his former girlfriend in Chicago from many years before the book, had a pretty funny blog too. I forget her real name (I think it was Elizabeth) but it was called the Bunny Blog. She was literally the female version of him when it came to raunchiness. I remember the first post of hers I read it started off by her talking about how she had such an intense orgasm her asshole locked shut for five minutes. She had a way with words that put try hards like Amy Schumer to shame.

I checked Maddox's site and he updated it as recently as 2020

I believe most of it. I have seen guys like him in practice. I had one in my group in college. Acted like a total dick, drank like a fish, was all about the shit show he could create, and he got laid. For a while he was fun to watch. This guy eventually ended up alone because his drinking became an addiction and he could never hold a relationship. He also alienated a lot of friends by hitting on their wives/GFs while drunk. And his act got tired.
I was a PUA and could write a book. But my style wouldn't sell as well. I never wanted to make someone feel bad, disrespected, used etc. I made women feel good, and was outrageous in what I would say, but in a fun way. Although my drunken escapades sometimes did go off the rails in funny ways. I have puked, had the shits, got puked on, had bed spins, woke up and didn't know where I was, slept with celebrities, Moms, oddballs, wide age range. Might be worth a thread to see some funny stuff that happened to doggers in their primes.

If Tucker Max was lying, he's a convincing liar. His stories generally had the ring of truth. And whether they were true or not, they were highly entertaining.

Maddox's popularity seems to have waned in popularity significantly. However, I greatly enjoyed his podcast "The biggest problem in the universe".

I remember my cousin getting me the Beer in Hell book back when it first came out..

It was a good read well I was in the hospital at the time.. but good portion of that shit had to have been made up or just massively embellished..

Still a good read though

I’m sure a lot of the stuff was punched up to make it more entertaining, but the core behavior all seemed like pretty standard wealthy douchebag stuff. I read his book in college and got a few laughs out of it, but I didn’t come away impressed by the guy, so I figure any exaggeration was to improve the telling of the story rather than to make him look better.

Didn’t he have a failed attempt at a tv career at one point as well?

I always found that introductions are always awkward. The trick is to either play into it or ignore it. Then accept that some women won’t like you and move on. Don’t waste time on them. In baseball hitting 30% makes you a hall of gamer. Deal with it.
