I’ve read a lot of outlaw MC biographies after watching SOA. Heck even Jenna Jameson references some hells Angel raping her when she was a teen. No doubt over the years there are some utter scum in 1% clubs. And stone sober Chuck Zito is a complete douche bag.

Sonny Barger wasn’t just some president, he was a pioneer and founder of the outlaw lifestyle. I don’t doubt he committed a crime or two but his founding principal, “Stand tall, stay loyal, remain free and always value honor” was to create a home for ex Vets and outcasts. Back in his heyday they mostly served as bodyguards for musicians and ran tattoo parlors. Sure they morphed into some heavy drug dealing shit but from all the books I’ve read Sonny comes off as mostly a good guy.
