WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump pardoned Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar and his wife in a federal bribery and conspiracy case on Wednesday, citing what he called a “weaponized” justice system.

Trump, who has argued that his own legal troubles were a partisan witch hunt, said on social media without presenting evidence that Cuellar and his wife, Imelda Cuellar, were prosecuted because the congressman had been critical of President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

Trump, a Republican, said in a social media post that Cuellar “bravely spoke out against Open Borders” and accused Biden, a Democrat, of going after the congressman and his wife “simply for speaking the TRUTH.”

Federal authorities had charged Cuellar and his wife with accepting thousands of dollars in exchange for the congressman advancing the interests of an Azerbaijan-controlled energy company and a bank in Mexico. Cuellar is accused of agreeing to influence legislation favorable to Azerbaijan and deliver a pro-Azerbaijan speech on the floor of the U.S. House.

Cuellar has said he and his wife are innocent. The couple’s trial had been set to begin next April.

Looks like blaming Biden is the go-to for all of these.
Trump's lackey Karoline blamed Biden for Gentile's Ponzi Scheme too:

Asked by a reporter in the White House about the commutation on Monday (2 December), Karoline Leavitt said the Biden government was “unable to tie any supposedly fraudulent representations to Mr Gentile”.

Except...Gentile was convicted in a court, by a jury.

You know who else was convicted while Biden was president? Ghislaine Maxwell. Will this be their excuse too? "The Biden government was unable to tie any supposedly illegal activity to Ms. Maxwell!"

The pardon business is really booming. Might be single-handedly keeping us out of a recession.
Depends how you look at it.

This is from back in June:

Trump's pardons cost the U.S. $1.3 billion, per House Dem report

Driving the news: The largest price tag from Trump's pardons, according to the 10-page report, was nearly $680 million owed in restitution by Trevor Milton, the founder of now-bankrupt electric truck startup Nikola.

  • Other major figures include $184 million in forfeiture from Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road marketplace convicted of drug trafficking, and $84 million in restitution owed by convicted fraudster Jason Galanis.
  • Trump also wiped $100 million in fines owed by crypocurrency firm HDR Global Trading.
  • Jan. 6 defendants collectively owed $2.6 million in restitution payments, including to law enforcement officers who were beaten during the deadly Capitol riot, according to the report.
By the numbers: The total cost of all the fines, forfeitures and restitution Trump relieved through his clemency grants comes out to $1,348,607,386, the report estimates.

lol I completely forgot he pardoned Trevor Milton. That's hilarious. I guess Trump's Firehose of Falsehood and Corruption strategy really does work at times. It's legitimately hard to remember it all.

They didn't factor in the role Trump's pardons play in stabilizing TrumpCoin. Amateur mistake.

How the fuck do you pardon someone who hasn’t been found or plead guilty yet? I mean, I know he can do so by law, but what the actual fuck at this point. Someone remove this morons pardon pen.

Between Biden pardoning Hunter and literally all of Trump's, the presidential pardon needs to be absolved at this point. Sorry future presidents, a few bad apples ruined it for everyone.

It’s fucking disgusting at this point. What a fucking joke he is. I actually have more sympathy for biden than I do trump because this cocksucker pardons just about every white collar criminal he can.

I hired an adjunct to teach a white collar crime class at my university.

Oddly enough, I met him at the grocery store when I was having a conversation with a friend about my work in human trafficking. He butted in and asked what I did for a living and we began talking. He is a retired federal prosecutor and lawyer and grad from the university from the 70s. He seemed like a good fit-but he is absolutely awful and I refused to hire him back. He prosecuted many white collar crime cases but he makes excuses for trump doing so in class according to what students have told me.

The main reasons I refused to hire him back was because he didn’t turn in or post his syllabi until last month. They were due back in August to very early September. It’s a shame he sucks so badly because I have a course on the Supreme Court and criminal justice class I am offering in the spring. It’s actually a dream class that I had started putting together for another university after I specialized in scotus rulings for law enforcement during my masters studies. Then when I saw we offered it and a student needed it to graduate in the spring, I knew I had to offer it. I started building the class but the university asked me to have an adjunct teach it online and they wanted me teaching a huge intro class.

At the very most the president should maybe be able to order a re-trial. I'm struggling to see the point of white collar crime even being illegal at this point.

The legality is in who you rip off.

Did you rip off banks, hedge funds, or the government? STRAIGHT TO JAIL.
Did you rip off the poors and plebs? Just a good boy who made a mistake.

This is WIIIIILLLDDD. I can only imagine Cuellar had some actual bars of gold shipped to Trump. I mean at a time like this where Republicans are claiming that Trump is working to make America safer and less corrupt, he pardons a notorious billion-dollar fraudster, a notorious drug dealer from Honduras, and now he pardons a DEMOCRAT taking bribes from foreign Countries. And he likely did this just because Biden's administration took Cuellar out, well that and he loves white collar criminals.

He pardoned Blagojovich because Blago complimented him lol
