Presumed remains of Travis Decker found

Anyone hear about this story. He had his three daughters during his visitation weekend, but never returned. Hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement officials from different agencies and different jurisdictions searched for him across the Pacific Northwest.

He was an Army Veteran , recently divorced and having trouble with housing. Allegedly he struggled with mental health issues, including PTSD, and unable to receive help through veterans' resources.

I'm so sad when I hear stories about people slipping through the cracks in social services. So many things are partisan now, but helping homeless veterans should be something we can all agree to do.

I don't think there was much of him left after scavengers and decomposition.

“That’s straight uphill. You’re almost looking like a little over 1,000 feet of elevation gain in a little bit of distance,” Morrison said of the patch of Grindstone Mountain. “It would take almost three hours to hike in there, just based off the terrain and the rock formations.”

“Decomposition was certainly well, well in place. The bone portions that we did find, of course, had been spread. So you could tell the likelihood that animals had been already into the scene,” the sheriff said.

"Last September, Decker’s ex-wife, Whitney Decker, wrote in a petition to modify their parenting plan that his mental health issues had worsened and that he had become increasingly unstable. He was often living out of his truck, and she sought to restrict him from having overnight visits with their daughters until he found housing."

We should focus more on veteran services instead of the culture war issues. Veteran's day is coming up soon, be sure to volunteer where you can.
