Hi guys!

So I've decided that i want to go on a training trip to Thailand. I'm an amateur fighter from Sweden and I'm planning on going like a year and a half from now or maybe a bit earlier. My main question is: what gym should i pick?

What I'm looking for:

*Good MMA training
*Great sparring partners
*I just want to train, I'm not looking to party or anything like that. 100% training
*I want to train at a gym that has pro fighters in good orgs like UFC, Bellator, WSOF, One FC or something like that.

-----

I plan on staying for 2-3 months and i really want to improve during those months.

Hopefully you guys can help! Thank you :)

You probably will find as good or better mma gyms in sweden/europe. You go to thailand for vacation or if you have a passion for thai boxing but not for mma.. imo.

yeah but have you factored in the cost of training/ living for sweden and thailand...It's so much cheaper in Thailand and there are a few good gyms.

Yeah, but i wanna live and focus ONLY on training. If i wanna get good quality training in Sweden i have to live in stockholm and it will be really expensive to get a place there and pay for food. Thailand is a lot cheaper and i can live almost for free since my GF:s uncle has a "house" on the beach there.

Tiger muay thai and mma.

Is it good? Will i be able to train with the Huerta, Ebersol and the other pro and amateur fighters or will i be stuck in beginners class? I've read that you have to start out in beginners class and they you will get bumped if you're good? I don't wanna waste time in the beginners class.

Also, I've read that the Muay Thai at Tiger MMA isn't that good compared to other gyms in thailand. Is the MMA training better? I know that a lot of great fighters train there so it has to be good, right?

Can you please expand on the pros and cons? Would really appreciate it :)

I just know they've been making waves of late.

Yeah, i attended UFC Stockholm and all the guys from Tiger Muay Thai destroyed the competition! Rogers latest fight was great as well :D I would love to train with those guys, i just don't wanna train with a bunch of tourists in a beginners class

You already fight, so you shouldn't have to go through that. Alot of the Thai trainers usually move around from gym to gym alot.

Ptt has great coaches, but you wont have very many good sparring partners. Tiger you will have a good amount.

There's pro's and cons about all the good gyms. Your best bet is to go there and try them both out.

All the best, and If you go to tiger, then see you at end of the year.

I feel like Tiger Muay Thai would fit me pretty good but as you said, the best thing to do is to try both PTT and TMT and see what i prefer.

I don't really know when I'll go but if i travel at the end of the year/beginning of 2015, I'll let you know! Thanks for responding :)

No problem mate. Ptt is good, but their business side of things is a lot if drama.

Tiger will suck if you are pretty much a tourist and not a fighter. Thats where they get their bad rep. But the official camp is all positive and good.

Ebersole is always helpful with the student's and so is mcsweeney so you got good teachers even when the main trainers are busy.

Also, you need to hit up unit 27 in phuket. Some of the best S&C you'll ever get

Phuket topteam is worth checking out mate. Hard sparring. Will man u up before u hit the pros.

AKA Thailand with Mike Swick. Soa Palelei trains there and there are some solid Russians, Iranians and Chechens there
