But it seems to me Topuria doesn't want Arman, just like he didn't want Evloev a weight class below.

Topuria could beat him yes, but I got Arman in this fight. Topuria never fought someone like Arman before, ever in his career. I suppose the same can be said for Arman, but he has faced a better grappler than Topuria in Islam, and on a short notice, he gave a pretty good fight to Islam.

I know Topuria is a great striker, but I don't know if it will be easy for him to find Arman's chin, and Arman actually has pretty good footwork and he's durable, and he got cardio, and Topuria went the decision with Emett let's not forget and got controlled by Bryce in the first round once taken down. And the threat of takedown will always be there, and Arman won't be standing in front of Topuria like some of the guys he fought.

I think Topuria has a puncher's chance but Arman I think should be able to wear him down I think. Topuria's game isn't one punch power like Conor's either, he throws combinations and knocks people out. It won't be easy to do that against Arman.

Who was he supposed to fight? Paddy wasn't really in contention yet, Islam had left, and Arman wasn't trusted again to not blow a big fight.

And Charles was set to rematch Islam for the belt but pulled out. He then beat Chandler before fighting Topuria. He lost to Arman before fighting Chandler, but again, Arman was not trusted again yet.

Both what Topuria said and his actions in the past don't line up at all with what you're trying to make up that he said.

The dude has never picked opponents. He's joked around and said he'd not fight all these different guys like Arman, but then he also said he would never defend against Volk, Max, and everyone else in the top 5 at FW. He was saying Max was old and needed to retire. Next minute he fights Max, who was the no2 guy behind the one he just KOd.
