Boredom struck me, let's stir up some ish. Based on careers and records. Not necessarily who is the better fighter but in tangible achievements and results. The newer fighters still got time to ruin their legacy and I don't consider losses of 40 year old fighters much. Once you're out of any reasonable age to be in your prime.

Justification of my choices

1 Jones - apsolutel phenom that destroyed world class fighters from a young age on. Youngest champ, I think after Vitor. Well rounded. No real losses but a DQ. Tough division. Dominated for a decade. Special talent and close to flawless career.
2 Khabib - no losses, dominated everyone but Tibau. Didn't fight all the top guys but ran trough everyone he fought and noone got him in trouble. Perfect record.
3 GSP - first truly well rounded fighter, elite in all 3 main disciplines, striking, wrestling & Bjj. Title defense after defense. Became predictable that he'd beat any challengers. Avenged his losses multiple times and in dominant fashion.
4 Stipe - fought a somewhat older division but the ranking is simply on wins. Beat DC twice, beat Francis. Only 3 losses at HW. Most HW championships.
5 DC - only lost to Jones and Stipe. Elite olympian athlete. Dominated world class opposition. Won a very strong Strikeforce HW Gp. LHW & HW champ. Natural talent.
6 Spider - doesn't have to be explained. Dominant MW champ. Phenom in his prime.
7 Izzy - Before his recent loss to Poatan beat almost everyone in the top 10 and started lapping. 5 title defenses. 2 close losses.
8 Francis - knocked out Stipe and is the epitome of the new generation HW monster. Power like Tyson. Beat Gane. Only real loss to Stipe and that fight vs Lewis doesn't even count much.
9 Fedor - the emperor. Some will consider him the goat others say he's overrated. One of the quickest most well rounded and talented fighters. 30 fight win streak. Great boxer, some of the best ground and pound and excellent submissions. Many will rank him top 3 or 1. Unfortunately didn't cross over to the UFC but dominated Pride FC and showed elite longevity to his career.
10 Valentina Schevchenko - in my option the most skilled female fighter thus far. Only competitive losses vs a bigger Nunes, and the second fight was questionable. And a cut vs Liz which she avenged. Record full of dominant wins. Makes other wmma stand outs look average. One of the cleanest technical strikers in both female and male mma.

Solid list. If you are going to rank Jones at all and not factor in PEDs, in my opinion he's the clear #1. If getting popped disqualifies you it becomes a different discussion - I'd probably go with GSP in that case.

Khabib has >50% tomato cans on his resume and a 13 fight professional career. Imagine thinking he's anywhere near this list.

He's not even close to being the clear #1 LW to ever do it.

<36>
Hardest division by far some unknown lw are certainly better than "big names" in other divisions, barely lost any round, he needed 9 fights for the title shot while GSP needed 2 and Jon Jones 3 (after dq). There is argument to his greatness and it all depends on what you value important. Your opinion is way less valuable that op's even tho he put Izzy at 7 lol.

Khabib is too high

This whole undefeated thing is overhyped

Yes he went 13-0 in the UFC but so did Kamaru Usman.

In Usman's first 13 fights he dominated everyone either he finished them or had a complete shut out

He did what Khabib did just slightly better or worse depending on you perspective yet somehow gets penalized for fighting more fight?

Ridiculous

Won the title fighting #14 ranked Al Iaquinta. His entire career is a smokeshow of nonsense when you break it right down. Great fighter, great skills, started to beat a few legit guys, then quit.

Jones is probably the worst cheater in MMA history. Eye pokes, steroids', you name it. He beat the shit out of the mother of his children and hit a pregnant lady with his car. He's human garbage and doesn't belong on any kind of top 10 list unless you're talking about the top 10 scumbags in MMA history, in which case he's 1 through 5

1. Jones
2. GSP
3. Anderson
4. Fedor
5. DJ
6. Aldo
7. Khabib
8. Stipe
9. Big Nog

I can get behind this, I'm not big on GOAT lists because a lot of it is subjective.
That being said If I made a list it would have similar positions and names.

Also shame on TS for forgetting DJ lol, anyways great list JKS.

Its To early in mma`s history to have a goat or a top ten right now. Just keep watching fights guys someday it will be decided :)

9. And 10. Aren't really earned but it's between guys like Hughes, Stipe, Usman, Volkanovski, Mousasi, Penn, Nogueira, Shields, Dominick Cruz, Faber, Hendo etc.

Most boring discussion of all time imo
Yeah it's really kinda silly since all these guys compete in different divisions and are fighting a different level of competition at the end of the day, a lot of these lists always lead to a lot of bias which makes sense since any of these top guys like GSP, Silva, Fedor or Jones all have very solid arguments to being the top guy.

What's more interesting or should I say makes more sense to discuss is who's the greatest by division since it's a lot more clear cut and many of the fighters in those talks have common opponents.

1. Royce Gracie

4. Georges St. Pierre
5. Anderson Silva
