Because last time Tony fought was in August 2024, which was a year layoff from his last fight, because for a washed up fighter, Tony Ferguson was very active, after the Mortal Kombat esque brutality he suffered from Gaethje and Tony shook his head like it's the "FINISH HIM" sequence and Justin delivered the one last punch before the ref calls it that Tony quit and lost, he fought 7 months against Olives whom was a rising contender, which is very early for him to come back as it was due to how eager he was to fight Khabib and suffered an absolutely dominant loss and Olives 30-26'd him and almost submitted him in an armbar in the first round then 5 months later, he fights Dariush and losses and was almost submitted with a heel hook but 1 year later, he fought Chandler, he did well before the brutal KO loss then 4 months which is too early to comeback from a brutal KO, he fights Diaz and gets submitted then 10 months later, he fights Bobby and gets submitted then 5 months later he fights Paddy and losses a decision and for his final UFC fight, he fights Chiesa and gets submitted, and also, these were all LW bouts except Diaz fight tho, and we know that lighter divisions fighters can't stay elite at old age and they start to no longer be quite the same when they are beyond 35.

Tony made his Boxing debut more than a year later from his fight with Chiesa and it was a MW bout in which fighters can win at old age in that division, and against an influencer/content creator who's a Boxer, Tony won but it was kind of a joke, cause first, that's a content creator, a very easy opponent (regardless of that was a bit of an early stoppage tho), secondly, Tony was a 340+ Underdog against that influencer whom was 500- favorite which is shameful tbf.

Take Stipe Miocic for an example, he he got KO'd by Francis, that was nowhere near half the brutalization Tony suffered from Justin, Stipe didn't fight for 3 years and 8 months, this layoff is the same layoff Tony should've had after he suffered that brutalization from Justin but at the same time, Stipe was having a ring rust, being out of competition for a long time makes you suffer ring rust but at the same time, fighters know and the fans should know that recovery is important, both physical and mental.

So the question in your opinion guys is: Did Tony win cause he let himself recover or cause he fought an influencer in a higher weight class or stayed active or what? cause if anything, I hope Tony gives himself another long break before he fights again.

He doesn't need a long break if he's going to fight Charlie Zelenoff next. This is where this seems to be going.

Folks acting as if he beat a high caliber boxer lol. I hope he doesn’t get ideas off this win and try to fight actual boxers because we already saw how that worked for Ngannou when he fought AJ, although Tony is a much more unknown name and won’t get an opponent of that caliber next.

All of that to celebrate that Tony beat up an influencer that goes by the name of Salt Papi? LMAO
Seriously I'm happy for him, but let's not pretend this fight is meaningful apart from Tony finally winning again
