Tony Khan purchases Ring of Honor

Will he treat Ring Of Honor like WWE's NXT or will it be like Raw and Smackdown type of thing?
 
Maybe he can buy Blockbuster to stock the DVDs

I think more like NXT. I really wonder who he's gonna put in charge as well. Especially seeing as William Regal just left WWE
 
Have mixed feelings about this being such a massive ROH fan but it's clear the company was dead. I would have probably preferred Vince bought it since they have peacock and could probably put them up quicker.

If AEW gets a streaming program and puts all the old ROH shows on it that would be great also.

One problem that will take away from the shows is we cant hear Danielson come out to the final countdown, Samoa Joe come out to the notorious BIG, Briscoes give me back my bullet etc. The edited version of the ECW shows are a bit of a let down without original music
 
I cant think of one time in American pro wrestling history where an existing promotion bought another existing promotion and was able to successfully run them both as completely separate promotions
Dont expect this to be any different

I presume Chris Daniels will be headed over there.

But Regal is certainly an option for an on-screen authority, and you have to think he is going to bring in Samoa Joe in some capacity to give it a bit of press

The tape library is huge for him though, now really has something to sell, 3 years of AEW, and 20 years of ROH


Long term, presume it will have its own independant roster, probably not very big, maybe 20-30 permenant contracted wrestlers and then pad it out with AEW mid carders who arent getting tv time.

ROH was already dead. This at least gives it a chance.

I think the bigger harm will be on the NWA. ROH will now have first call on all the AEW wrestlers. And others will see ROH as a route to get into AEW

In a perfect world ROH would be run as a separate brand with the occasional crossover with AEW. It would be nice if there was a serious wrestling product for old school wrestling fans instead of the clown show from the two big companies. But given one of the two clown show companies owns them that probably won't happen.
