Tai Tuivasa has a guy dead on his feet and decides to grapple, was even on top of the guy who was in a sprawled position, and still did not ground and pound, even when he got his hands free.

Dan Hooker is front kicking St.Denis into oblivion to the point were St. Denis looked like he was trying to hide that he was hurt from body kicks, and then decides to do what? Dan decides to grapple, and never gets back up from something he initiated.

Main event, you are down on the scorecards, your 2nd title shot, you need a finish, its the last round, and you do what? You start grappling with the guy the entire round... round ends with the guy twerking on top of you and screaming at the crowd

These guys are super fun to watch, but you can very easily see why they cant or wont be champions without some miracle retirements or interim belts.

I don't understand how Lopes clearly saw that he couldn't beat Volk on the scorecards from the first fight, and decided to come in and try to beat him on the scorecards on the 2nd fight?

Just go out there and go wild, try to make it ugly. Take a punch or two to get close and start swinging. Win by TKO or lose by TKO. Better than a guaranteed decision loss.

Far easier said than done for Lopes, anytime he tried pushing forward Volk was either nowhere to be found or he got cracked hard for his troubles.

Had he just started swinging he would've definitely got folded, Volk is just that much better than him.

Clinching instead of continuing to strike a hurt opponent is unreal to me. Like, how fucking dumb you have to be? In no other combat sport do the fighters think like this. This would be like in kickboxing or MT if you land a knockdown and then just went in and clinched or just didn't do anything and let the opponent off while circling and feinting a bit. Fighters in those sports wouldn't understand what the fuck these MMA fools are thinking. They hurt someone they go after them, not clinch, feint and circle while their opponent recovers.

Yea, agreed.

I watch almost all UFC on mute due to them being on in the middle of the night to early morning and not wanting to wake up the whole family. It is a completely different world when one watches mute than with whichever "Ohh!" or "Aaah!" the commentary team has decided to furiously push during that particular fight.
