Even though you are embellishing and Khabib actually had 13 straight UFC wins and 3 title defences at LW (all finishes against top 10 p4p fighters) which still puts him among the top of all time in those categories,

many have him in the arguement because of his statistical dominance as opposed to longevity:

- highest round winning % in the UFC and most 10-8 rounds of all time within those 13 fights on top of various other records he holds

- Only fighter to ever go 29 fights and make it to the top level and win title belts without getting scratched

So people who choose him as the GOAT are doing so because he's the best, most dominant fighter,
not because he had the most longevity

Khabib is great but there are several fighters who would be viewed very favorably if they'd walked away at the same point in their careers that Khabib did. I mean good for him, but it left his resume lacking and his "GOAT" appeal is essentially hypothetically extrapolating his undefeated run and saying he would have continued the dominance if he didn't retire, but he did. Compare his quality wins to ANY other top tier legend and he comes up way short.
