Are their some pitfalls that I should know about.? Does anybody know a good source to buy? I've seen them on Ebay for $100-200.

You can install Kodi and a build with all the best current streaming plugins in about 3 minutes on the ones you get direct from Amazon for much less. So what's the point in the jailbroken ones?

Break this down to me as if I were a child.

Why don't you jail break one and save a ton of money?

So you buy a firestick from Amazon. Use one of the methods to install Kodi onto it such as explained here: https://seo-michael.co.uk/tutorial-how-to-install-kodi-on-a-firestick/

That gets Kodi on it.

Kodi on its own doesn;t do what you want and you need to install various streaming plugins. Luckily people have made "builds" which is a plugin you install into Kodi which then, in turn, installs all the plugins for movies and shit and tarts up the interface.

One that works well for Firestick is Wookies build and this tells you how to install it once you're in Kodi: https://seo-michael.co.uk/tutorial-how-to-install-the-wookie-wizard-for-kodi/

It really is a piece of piss.

I set that shit up on my friends fire stick only recently and I'm fairly rubbish when it comes to techmology.

Thanks for the replies all.

On topic. I've heard rumors that cable companies have contacted folks streaming in theater movies, but have yet to meet a single person this has happened to.

Also, most movies that are "in theater" will more than likelily will be shitty cam versions unless it's a good copy from Asia. Good HD copies usually hit once it hits digital release.

What are the odds of getting caught and having your life ruined like back in the napster days?

Gotta use a good vpn my man, no problems and its only $30/year. Just sayin I know a guy who knows a guy that does that.

This might sound stupid but I thought I read that using a VPN makes you stand out to the authorities because they assume that you have something to hide. So you kind of draw unnecessary attention to yourself.

I've had Kodi for almost two years and have had no legal issues. They're after the distributors, not the users.

This. Don't plan on watching movies in HD until they are out for DVD/on demand and get a vpn. I use Ip vanish.

I had a friend that tried watching a UFC ppv on his. It as laggy, choppy, poor quality and the stream cut out multiple times.

Nah, most ISP's dont have the time and resources to dedicate to catching users. A guy a knew once got a letter from comcast, but since he got a vpn problem solved. This same person watched logan today on his firestick and enjoyed it, even though it is a cam version.

This is what I have.

If you have a techy friend to set it up for you like I did this what I recommend.

Jailbroke firestick? You kids and your hippity hop.

I feel bad for your friend. Logan is most definitely a movie that needs to be seen on a movie screen.

I just found one that has kodi and apps for $60. Sounds good to me.

I'm reading things about downloading Kodi to an Android phone. So is it possible to do this and then cast/stream it to your TV?
