stipe tried to wrestle dc too much the first time around. Messed around too long in dc's world

This time think he's gonna play a game of movement and range. Avoiding the clinch and close range situations at all cost

I still think DC is gonna win but through a close and hard fought fight this time around

He could get the finish again but Stipe is prob gonna play a much safer and intelligent game this time around. Take DC into deep waters and test his hw cardio

Definitely wouldn't sleep on Stipes chances here

A decision maybe, but not close.

If DC starts losing the standup he will bring it to the ground

I don't predict HW fights anymore. Anything could happen. I am looking forward to it and pulling for DC.

A decision win at HW with two guys with extremely high finishing rates??

Expect a finish.
could be wrong but still stand behind that prediction

Don't think stipe's finishing DC. Unless his chin suddenly gives out on him in his older age.

I think stipe fights a more intelligent, safe fight as well. He is very good at Avoiding damage, assuming he keeps the fight at range and avoids inside/ clinch situations where DC is most dangerous I think it's gonna be tough to finish him this time around

But we shall see

He couldn’t wrestle Gustafsson
Stipes defensive wrestling is pretty good

he's also very physically strong

DC could definitely out wrestle him but he will have to spend a lot of energy to do so

Stipe's best bet here seems to be taking the fight into deeper waters

and he also has a good wrestling pedigree, unlike gustafsson.

i do not think wrestling is an option here for DC unless stipe is the one who gets tired, which is possible.

i think stipe should look at this similar to his Roy Nelson/Mark Hunt fights. Which is almost exactly what you said, stay outside, use your superior striking, dance circles around the guy. grab takedowns when they present themselves. just win where youre better.

its really not that complicated, he was just forcing a lot in that first fight.

Fuckin oath, agree on all. Though it means I bet on DC in the first one, somehow he was a rank outsider, good win that!

Dc's shadow boxing looked better than Stipes tbh

Even with the height and reach I think they're pretty closely matched on the feet. So even if DC doesn't wrestle much / is cautious about how much energy he expends wrestling.. It's a tough fight for stipe

But yeah, it's through 5 that Stipe could pull ahead. Or not, DC has gone 5 multiple times and has always shown good cardio from what I remember, how a fatter, older hw DC handles the deeper waters remains to be seen tho

I think Stipe loses no matter what he does.

He adjusts poorly during fights and DC will continually keep him off balance.

Miocic was stucked in DC's territory. Everytime he would step with the 2, Cormier would deflect it stiff arming and getting a collar tie, which is a point from they'd extend the clinch.

Stipe would be better if he was a switch-hitter so he would have that southpaw rear leg high kick followup. He tried to adjust mid-fight by following 2 with the 3, but failed short on DC.

DC's hand trapping from the long guard also played a big role messing with Stipe's entries and causing him to eat a ton of blows even when he was backed up.

It was a one way road.

Stipe would be better if he was a lot of things

He's pretty basic honestly , lol

I need to start wrestling. Only thing keeping me from doing it is an old acl tear. Too much I don't know
