the town vs den of thieves

Both good. But Den of Thieves takes it. Yes even from Heat. Bored out of my mind during it but not DoT.

Plus the DoT crew would waste the Heat crew

actors - town
action - den of thieves
story - town
bonus points for blake lively, i dont recall any hardbodies in den of thieves

town 29-28

The Town is one of my fav movies..... I’ve probably seen it over a 100 times between the 3 of them. What is Dan of thieves?

The Town. But Den of Thieves is fun to re-watch. A few too many slow parts though to take the crown.

The two best modern action heist films not made by Mann. It’s a shame Den of Thieves isn’t more popular because it’s just a shade below Town for me, but an awesome kick ass movie. It got it’s biggest audience recently over the last month on Netflix. I think Butlers character is just a bit too over the top. There are a few times it takes me out of the picture. The scene they interrogate Jackson Jr. in the hotel is either super badass or super stupid depending on how you are watching the movie.
Den is a bit more cheesy and slightly unrealistic compared to Heat and Town. However, it works for the film in scenes like the restaurant confrontation, intimidating the daughters date in the garage and the ex wife’s husband at the dinner party.
The action in Den isn’t quite as good as Town. The freeway sequence is the only thing that really stands out, particularly the 10 secs they use the SAW gun through the back window of the suv. Also, the opening two minutes are good, but it’s a fairly small sequence.
Town’s final shootout at Fenway is better. I think that scene has the best sound editing of any shootout in any film.
Also, Pablo, the lead in Den, should be a major action star and household name.

I really like both movies. Den of Thieves has some of the best shootout scenes of all time imo....

they’re different films though.

I did one with Collateral so might do a heist vs heist film (not involving Heat) I think
Yeah, Inside Man is an interesting heist film, but it’s not an action heist film like Heat, Town and Den. More of a Heist Thriller/Mystery-Crime. Some other good ones in the genre are The Score and Mamet’s Heist. If anyone likes Mamet’s awesome yet wordy awkward theater style of writing check out Val Kilmer in Spartan, one of the last real things he did and now on Tubi for free. Not a heist film, but has elements. The gas station scene is so weird and awesome. Very specific action kind of like History of Violence.
Also, if you love Heat, but haven’t seen Thief with James Cann by Mann it’s worth a watch. Great Heist film and the precursor to Heat. Sort of like what Reservoir Dogs is to Pulp.
And if your’re a Mann fan be sure to see Manhunter, the first film with Hannibal Lecter. You can see the Miami Vice, cool neon style he uses even in these early films. I read an argument once that Thief, which must have been shot in 80 really was one of the first examples of the neon look to 80’s style/art.

youve compared plenty of non related movies tho lol

collateral vs minority report

yeah but those were big films, I rarely use the same film multiple times. It’s boring.

I'm good with Cruise.

I might do a superhero one or using some action stuff, like mad max fury road

did you see it?
