Nates cardio has too be one of the most overhyped
Narratives in the history of mma he lost almost every fight against elite competition due to being outworked. He lost a 5 round fight too Conor who has at best 5 mins of gas in him. Another example of joe rogan pushing a narrative that is completely false ,nates cardio being god tier is laughable and always has been.

He has good cardio, but even his cardio can't keep up in the fifth round when he was getting worked the first 4 rounds.

When he's in control of a fight his cardio is pretty good

Nate always piggybacked on Nick's reputation.

Nate was very good against strikers for the most part though. But even then he wasn't elite and relied on his size advantage at LW. He was never a good WW.

eh Nate Diaz kind of has a better legacy than Nick at this point and has fought better fighters and has better wins (outside of GSP, who Nick promptly got wrestle fucked by anyway).

Tbh a lot of the narratives around Nate are myths.

Yeah he was a huge draw, people love him, but he was NEVER near as great in the cage as people made him out to be later in his career. There are other examples, like Jorge, where somewhere along the way people conflate popularity with talent.

I'm not dissing Nate, he's not a bum by any means, he was a solid fighter and had success, but fact is he never won more than 4 straight, 22-13 overall. those losses aren't just an end of career thing, they were always there.

Better wins maybe, but also worse losses. And Nate always got raped when he fought the elite, especially against those with wrestling. Nick at least had his moments and looked like he belonged there.

And actually Nick's win (before it was overturned, which was bs) against prime Gomi in Pride was probably the best win either had.

Some of what @Bojka said. Definitely Nick's reputation and Nate's get conflated on various levels/topics.

But he joined the UFC in '07 and didn't really show any gassing problems even when losing to Guida, Benson, Rory...probably not until that 2nd Conor fight in 2016. And again Edwards in 2021.

Shit, the Cowboy bout was supposed to showcase Cowboy's gas tank and prove Nate's inability to cope; look how that turned out.

I'd suggest the evidence proves he has cardio, not proves its a myth, eh?
