british bulldogs were big in canada and the uk before the US.
demolition might have been the most over--they had network television on their side, and if i recall, many folks didnt realize that they were road warrior knock offs.
demolition also kind of captured the imagination of casual wrestling fans (again, many of whom didnt know about hawk and animal) with the leather and spikes and the masks and teh face paint.
weird to think that smash was the repo man though.

Steiners were just as over as LOD imo, ntm that they each had infinitely more success as individual wrestlers as well compared to LOD.
