They came to the NFL like the Cleveland Browns,Baltimore Colts out of the old AAFC their first NFL season was 1950.

The franchise was the first to use the shotgun formation extensively, and the first to have a runningback Joe "Jet" Perry (first black to have a 1000 yard season) have consecutive 1000 yard rushing seasons, he is still among the top 50 rushers of all time. And he is the only one with just a JC education-Compton.

Perry would later team up with Hugh "King" McElhenny (also Compton pre Washington) and John Henry Johnson to share carries, all three future Hall of Famers. And......YA Tittle handing off also a future Hall of Famer.

As we know Joe Montana and Steve Young throwing to Jerry GOAT Rice was as good as it got.

The Niners the only franchise that used five different QB's in Superbowls

Joe Montana
Steve Young
Colin Kaepernick
Jimmy G
Brock Purdy

This is hard to beat

All Star O

QB...Joe Montana
RB...Frank Gore, Roger Craig.......three Hall of Famers on the bench
Receivers....Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens
TE....George Kittle

Can;t talk Niners and not mention

Ronnie Lott, Bryant Young, Bob St. Clair, THE CATCH, Christian McCaffrey, Dave Wilcox, Leo Nomellini.

Won't mention....

Bullet Bob Hayes, OJ Simpson, Randy Moss, Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson.

We have another shot at it all again this season, but without our two studs on D, probably not.

WTF????

Not sure how I did that, sorry,

Obviously belongs in the sport section, my bad.

I've met Ronnie Lott and Jerry Rice, both were very cool

3 best superbowls of my lifetime were the 3 the 49ers lost. Their past 3. All really exciting games

When I first started watching football as a kid it was Notre Dame on NBC and Joe Montana/49ers kicking ass in the NFL. What a time to be alive.

edit: and Joe Montana is still my goat over tb12, it is what it is.

I don’t really care about football. But it was fun to watch the Montana/Rice era of the 49ers when I was a kid.
But honestly, there are few sports more boring than football. They play for 5 seconds, them rest for 30.

Google...

Doug Williams
Hattie McDaneil
Willie Thrower
Ernie Davis
Jackie Robinson
Jack Johnson
Eddie Tolan
Abner Haynes
George "Little Chocolate" Dickson
Joe Perry

You won't get far before you read......the first African American to....

Noting racist about it, simply facts.

Fletcher Joseph Perry (January 22, 1927 – April 25, 2011) was an American professional football fullback who played in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and National Football League (NFL). He played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1948 to 1960, the Baltimore Colts from 1961 to 1962, and returned to the 49ers in 1963 for his final year in football. He was exceptionally fast, a trait uncommon for a fullback and one which earned him the nickname, "the Jet". The first African-American to be named the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP), he became one of American football's first black stars.

You need to grow up we have passed you by.

Usain Bolt wins the 100m in 9.6, wins the 200m in 19.3, anchors the 4x1 in 38.00. that is excitement. and all under a minute.

You simply aren't geting it.

Montana was just too damn cool. a dart thrower actually, he simply had that...........IT.

What can be said about the Four Horsemen, Touchdown Jesus, The Golden Dome, hell The Golden Boy Paul Hornung, win one for the Gipper, Knute Rockne, gotta love Notre Dame and the media does.

Consistently being on free tv across the country every Saturday also played a big part in their popularity imo. Lou Holtz was the man in his time.

49ers are the second gayest team in NFL history right behind Green Gay

Lucky you, get an autograph?
Jerry Rice, yes he signed a card and a poster. Ronnie Lott, no I didn't have anything to sign. He was the guest speaker at a fundraiser that I worked at. He did take his Super Bowl rings off and let us try them on (I was in High School).

A Jerry Rice autograph, wow~~~~~~~

The greatest WR ever and you have his autograph, yep....envy setting in.

Lott had to have been the hardest hitting DB ever.

Look, I get this doesn't belong here, won't happen again, simple brain fart I thnk but,,,,,?????

Why the negativity?

The games were just really good. Goal line stance by the Ravens, chiefs down 10 points in the 4th quarter, then Chiefs win in overtime. All really exciting games. Sometimes the superbowl has been a drag but not those 3 games
