It's almost time for the biggest games event of the year and it is usually stacked with new announcements and updates.

Hopefully we'll see GTA 7, Bloodborne Kart, the PS6 Pro, and Spore 2..

In all seriousness, the leaks are looking promising with a new Lara Croft game/remake, possible FF7 part 3 title, Control: sequel, Phantom Blade Zero and some other intriguing titles. Some may just be speculated and will be absent, but the Game Awards always deliver.

Livestream:

I am hoping Yotei/Hades 2/DS2 can pick up some awards, but E33 seems to be dominating this year, having already won the Golden Joystick Awards best: storytelling, visual design, soundtrack and ultimate game of the year - along with Ben Starr (Verso) and Jennifer English (Maelle) winning best supporting role and lead performer.

"biggest games event of the year"

<{MingNope}>

We should see something from phantom blade zero. I've been watching for their steam page since the game was first announced and it finally showed up this morning.

I wasn't sure about Pragmata at first, but it has grown on me. I think the demo is a must, though.

Lmao, who else was going to get the best Indie game? The first award of many.

This stream is quite laggy, but largely okay

I'm already tired of all the nonsense and goofy shit and we aren't even half an hour in.

So the last name of one of the two women who accepted the award for South of Midnight caught my eye: Diane Guillemont. I was like, "WTF? Like the Ubisoft family?" Because I knew it was a Microsoft-published game, so that seemed odd. Then when I googled I realized her name had an "n", and I thought I was a dumbass. Not so, as it turns out. That's just a variation in the French spelling which is apparently normal in France.

A.I. spit this out:
Gemini said:
What is known publicly is that the five brothers—Christian, Claude, Gérard, Michel, and Yves Guillemot—founded Ubisoft.

Diane Guillemont
is a producer at Compulsion Games and a confirmed member of that extended family. Her specific parental relationship to one of the five brothers or her exact position in the broader family structure is not public record.

The general structure is:
  • First Generation: The parents who established the initial family business in Brittany, France.
  • Second Generation: The five brothers who founded Ubisoft (Yves, Michel, etc.).
  • Third Generation: Includes people like Charlie Guillemot (Yves' son), who works at Ubisoft, and Diane Guillemont, who works at the Microsoft-owned Compulsion Games.
Just a random bit of viewing trivia.

Street fighter movie appears to have a vibe, might be stupid fun. Or just stupid.

Moistcritical? Whenever I turn on one of his videos (rarely), it makes me want to sleep lmao
