Prime Hendricks was a monster and filthy casuals wouldn't understand.

Dude had ridiculous power in his hands and top notch wrestling. He abondoned his striking for a very wrestle-heavy game and his standup was non-existent aside from in the clinch in the GSP fight and never went back. Big mistake.

Prime Hendricks could be champ today and would be a bad matchup for Usman and Colby imo. His win streak all the way up to his GSP fight followed by his 2 classics with Lawler was such a great run. Hendricks at his best is one of the absolute elite WWs ever.

I was a fan of the guy. I give him shit for the excuses but the only excuses that actually bothered me were the Wonderboy ones. Blaming his sparring partners, I don’t even know. At that point I was like, you just got stopped by a superior striker dude. It wasn’t cause of your sparring partners that you got TKO’d.
Hendricks is a guy I eventually bagged on a lot, but I mean no ill will towards the guy. He fought almost everyone on his way towards a title shot so he’ll forever have my respect for that.
