The Difference Between a "Casting Punch" and a "Bolo Punch"?

That entire thread is cringe worthy.

But to answer you're question.

A bolo punch is a type of uppercut where the hand is sort of dragged behind the elbow. It's a good way of feinting your opponent out of changing levels.

A casting punch is a roundhouse haymaker used with the intention of grabbing a samboists jacket. Its honastly not the best technique for MMA as the only throw it opens up is the head and arm, a throw that, if done incorrectly can get your back taken.

I called it a roundhouse haymaker with bolo properties.

so once again you're not correcting me you're just proving my point.

What you said was

"casting punches" don't exist. they are hooks. looping bolos

I dont know what world you live in where a "casting punch" looks like a bolo. The bolo punch is only ever an uppercut, Its based on the technique used for cutting sugar cane. Try cutting sugar cane like Fedor throws a punch and see how that works.

a bolo is a half hook half uppecut. you can't tell me half the supposed casting punches fedor throws arent exactly that

Casting punches are types of hooks. There are many types of hooks, just like there are many variations on every technique. Calling a casting punch a "roundhouse haymaker with bolo properties" is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Trying to argue that they don't exist is like trying to argue teeps don't exist because "they're just pushing front kicks". That whole thread in the heavies is a joke. Reminds me of why I stopped posting there.

A word of warning. He's gonna refute you pretty hard.

The guy who admitted his striking experience is two years of boxing as a youth?

A casting punch is a type of hook with distinct mechanics and utility. It's as simple as that. There's nothing to refute. If he can't recognize that, he's just advertising his own ignorance.

Yep.
But trust me, he'll refute you anyway.

Casting punch named by an American for promotional purposes..........ROSS.........and for some reason people regurgitate that off of other bad youtube vids

Russian Long Hooks are hooks....

And the cast of Casting shown in vids of the Casting way down behind your hip bone is wrong B.S. IMO

and not how Fedor teaches it as well.....
