Episode 5 hit me in the Feels twice.

The first was Hughie Sr's death scene, obviously.

The second was Starlight looking at the pictures of herself on the computer. The difference between how Annie used to look vs her fucking Skeletor face now was just sad. :(

To be fair, she was looking almost like her old self in episode 4. Whatever procedures she had done, look to have nearly healed when this episode was filmed. It was the most normal she has looked all season.

He isn't even as masculine as the teenage version of arnold.

Arnoldo from house Guatemala is the true heir.

Arnold was using steroids as a teen though.

The last scene was my favorite so far of the season. Butcher is killing it RN. May need to watch Gen V to find out the story on the two new teens on the team.

As soon as I saw that leg, I was like "Oh yeah, that's a clean cut. That Doctor is stashed somewhere with a tourniquet around it.

glad some people got their feels touched, but Hughie’s whole b-plot this season has been the worst & gets my vote for the Biggest Don’t Give a Fuck award. fortunately, this episode should finally put an end to that thread & get Hughie back to meddling w/ the boys. praying they don’t waste anymore runtime trying to incorporate more estranged mother subplots than are necessary

the goofy as fuck adventure on nightmare farm was a fun side quest that served as a reminder that the show is still down to clown w/ some absurd, even borderline stupid, hijinx complete w/ a healthy injection of gratuitous ultraviolence.

TBD how i feel about Ryan’s sudden taste for bullying & humiliation. i think it’s pretty clear that Homelander’s new tender loving fatherly persona—the cool dad energy & putting aside his ambitions in favor of how Ryan feels or what Ryan wants—is mostly just a manipulation strategy as a means to an end where Homelander gets exactly what he wants. i’m sure he’s also patting himself on the back for being a capital F Father, but yeah, i have doubts about how genuine any of that is

Homelander taking something good and pure about his own son (his kindness) and morphing it into pure sadism is so on brand for the character. Ryan's slow descent into becoming his father is going to be pretty horrific to watch unfold. Can't wait, tho!

Definitely agree on the Hughie subplot. I'm glad it didn't get dragged out for another episode and it's over and done with.

The photos of the actress being posted around are from surgeries she had after this season was filmed. The version of her in this season doesn't exist anymore, and yes it was less bad at that time. Basically you'll only see the full extent of the damage next season.

forreal. it was a goddamn mercy that the whole Compound V fiasco was wrapped up in a single episode when it easily could’ve been dragged out one or even two more. it’s like, yeah, i see what you guys are doing here, but the end product was this ineffective clunky emotional arc for Hughie that i big time did not give a single fuck about. time to finally move on thank goodness

Glad to see Stan Edgar back though. That man showed no fear even when Butcher had the plan of "Let's just leg it out of 'ere and let natural selection happen how it happens."

Season 3 was better than this season so far, even with the botched finale, in my opinion. Soldier Boy was so much better than any of the characters this season. We actually had a build to him vs Homelander. This season feels like its building to nothing. The supposedly main protagonists and antagonists are pretty much buddy buddy when on screen together, there is no tension.

At this point I only care about Butcher and what's going on with him. And maybe a little about whats going on with Homelander but its getting a bit stale this point.

This season does kind of feel like a set up for the fifth and final season. We’ll see how these last 3 episodes play out.

Loved the chemistry between Stan and Victoria,

Edger, "Dr Shaw was my top man at R&D. Before he went behind my back and deflowered my daughter".

Victoria, "OK, I was 20, and thourghly deflowered!" <lol>

Starlight and MM are hard to look at this season.

Pegg knocked it out of the park with the most recent episode; also really hoping some of these silly ass character storylines are wrapping up.

Also, Ryan's weird ass modulated voice to make him sound like a little kid this episode.... yikes. Drawing a blank on why Cate & Sam are hanging with the Seven.

Cate and Sam are the "Heroes of Goldokin", so they're being primed as the next-generation.
