I think they mistake being a fan of their character as being a fan of them & their behavior & conduct.
There's a big difference.
And it speaks loudly of the producers/writers character as creators they would respond to such a small minority of their audience by massively altering the storylines of future seasons of the show to supposedly 'piss off' the supposed faction of the show's fanbase.

Yeah, it isn't off to a great start at all. Though I like this Sage angle they got going on. A very weak(physically) character giving Homelander some shit.

Too many rehashed story lines. Why do we need another 'Frenchy being haunted by his past' or more Kimiko and the Shining Light Liberation Army backstory? The Starlight stuff is pretty bad at this point too, her scenes are too jarring with her fucked up look.

The user score of the first 3 seasons is 95%, 83%, & 75% which are relatively high for a show that is 'left-wing' mostly because it pokes fun at nearly everything.
Its an absurd world it takes place in, so that's why many of the left-wing messages are accepted by right-wing audiences.

The issue is it dances on a fine red line, and usually when a show does that it always jumps over to the left-wing side and sticks hard to it.

THAT said, (and I really should have mentioned this in my post under the spoiler) it should be noted that real-life politicans have been inspiration for characters in The Boys...

What was the name of that comedy that made fun of transexuals.... Lady-Ballers? It was like it was trying to be a early-to-mid 2000s R-rated comedy..... and I laughed twice throughout it.

Far too preachy and Daily Wire is on positive terms with many comedians who could have helped write the script.

So, I'm not entirely caught up on the show (I'm about half way through season 3 at the moment), but the people complaining about it "going woke" sound pretty fucking stupid to me. I mean, from the start, it was a pretty explicitly left-leaning show, to the point that I, as a leftist, felt it was a bit too on the nose.

I mean, I haven't started season 4 yet, so maybe it somehow gets more "woke", but I don't really see how the show can make its politics any more clear than when it made the main villain for season 2 a literal alt-right internet troll.

All of that aside, regardless of our political views, we shouldn't let that distract us from the one thing that should unite us all about The Boys. Namely, the fact that Kimiko is fucking adorable.
