" Taharrush Gamea" : the Arab rape and molestation phenomena

Evidently the term Taharrush Gamea became popular in Egypt. It is the practice of Arab men groping, sexually assaulting , raping a lone female.

It's been called the " Arabic rape game " and it has now spread to Europe.

I couldn't find big name American media outlet mentioning it but I only searched 1st 2 pages on google ; plus it would not be surprising if the big media outlets intentionally avoid talking about this.

Being a Pakistani daily, it does state the obligatory denial that this has nothing to do with Islam. It would be accurate to say this isn't a Muslim tradition as there are many Muslim communities around the world who don't do this. It does have a lot to do with Islam since ther religion is patriarchy on steroids and excuses men's behavior while imposing strict rules on women. It is also a religion that deems it acceptable to abuse non Muslims. You don't see Christian MiddleEasterners doing this.

The Pakistani paper is primarily reporting on the mass attacks on Women in Egypt and Europe by Arabs and Muslims, but also mentons attacks in Pakistan. The video linked in the article is of Arab and or Turkish men arrying out attacks.

Just because it is a Pakistani paper does not mean everything they write about involves Pakistan only. The word "Tarrush Gamea" is Arabic; it is not Urdu or a word from any other Pakistani language.

Just because it is a Pakistani paper does not mean everything they write about involves Pakistan only. The word "Tarrush Gamea" is Arabic; it is not Urdu or a word from any other Pakistani language.

Working backwards, many words in Urdu are of Persian or Arabic origin. Secondly, the fact the attackers are accusing their victims of being Hindus shows they're discussing Pakistan.

I saw a documentary about the "dancing boys of Afghanistan" that made my dreads stand on end. Apparently it's all good to diddle a boy if he's too young to grow a beard.
