My passion for the show Spartacus (Starz) knows no bounds. You can catch the show if you haven't seen it on Netflix (complete series) I highly recommend you do so! By far my favorite show mixed with so much drama, action, sex and violence! Probably doesn't hurt its my favorite time period.

Please discuss if you have seen the show? What do you think? Favorite season? Favorite episode? Favorite fight?

After giving it another rewatch, the pilot wasn't THAT bad, although it showed in no way any indication on how good the show was going to be.

Still wishing that they had hired the actress that played Gabriel in Xena and had her make out with Lucy Lawless.

I remember reading Renee O'Connor was against on screen nudity so she didn't want to be on the show, or something like that? It would have been distracting though, I can't look at Renee and see anyone other than Gabrielle. She doesn't have the range to play someone like Gaia.

ohh men you too? i hated the actress they chose to replace naevia she just wasnt able to play that role well at all,the first actress really was able to capture the calm personality and composure the character required but everything the later did just didnt hold up

ashur yes you are right the actor played that role so well...,he made ashur very believable as a human being and honestly i would rather have him killed in the third season or so,they could have made him get away with everything he did(or to some level) and let him live, that would make for an insane twist of events and its something not a lot of shows do these days(let the bad guys go away) since it could be a nice break from the theme of revenge that follows spartacus and the same could be said for a couple of other villains as well(like the pirate Heracleo) i dont know i just feel it would have been more creative like the death of varo

But the character no longer had a calm composure after the mines (which was where the character left off when the new actor received the part).

Look at the way Crixus acts differently in the prequel versus Blood and Sand. That's how I view Naevia in season 1 and 2, just in this case there's two actors. I thought the new actress bridged the gap between the calmer aspects of Naevia from the ludus with a mix of her PTSD bitterness after what she had been through in season 2 very well (reference). It would have been cool had they given her a chance to play ludus Naevia in Crixus' dreams in an extended flashback so that once we see her in the mines, we can connect the two instead of having to start over fresh. What aired in 2x03 went by for like 3 seconds, but from what was shown was consistent.

Ashur died at the appropriate time. To be honest I was already growing weary of the character. All ties to the ludus era had to be cut by the end of Vengeance or else its redundant.

I loved the Gannicus Prequel Season.

Have all the episodes saved on my hard drive. Benn watching them on and off since the show ended.

I think I actually went through a period of depression when this show ended.

Better than it had any right to be. Too bad Whitfield died, the guy they replaced him with was all right but could never really fill his shoes.

IMO the 4 (3? + miniseries) seasons of this show they made was the perfect amount, with the perfect ending. But I would watch the fuck out of another prequel series.

I loved the Gannicus Prequel Season.

Loved this show but I skipped that season. Can't stand when they do prequels in a TV show. Especially when I'm desperate to see how it all turns out.

I just miss the show SO SO much. No show ever captured my love and intrigue like that one. The rewatchability is endless for me. I just watch and watch and watch.

It was done out of necessity after the original Sparticus (Andy Whitfield) Died.

Could have been a goat contender for me if Whitfield hadn't died. Loved me some Gannicus though.

Yea my friend explained it to me and was trying to get me to watch it along with the other seasons. After seeing Spartacus escape though there was no way in hell I was going to go backwards when I had the option to watch all the newer episodes.

Onimeous needs his own show up until his fight that ended his career.

You missed out big time!

This is also what I would be most interested in seeing. You could implement Gannicus in there as well seeing as how SPOILERS* he died at the end of WOTD. Gannicus and On were my 2 favorites.

what they did to Ceasar was the most shocking historical revision in tv history.

Thats when you realize the producers aint playing around.

Yea your probably right. The whole show was great I'm sure the prequel was to. I just can't stand prequels though.

I understand what you're saying but give it a chance just because of circumstance.

Great series. My Family and friends all love the show. One of my best friends named his pitbull crixus. Series got better with each season. Really wish Andy could have finished the series. They could do a spinoff on Pompey or Caeser.

I actually might go back and watch it. I loved that show and there is nothing like it now (Vikings is pretty damn close though).

Favorite episodes? Favorite fights? Episode - Shadow Games...........Fight - Gannicus vs Spartacus. Its the only seen after Spartacus has become Prime Sparty where he is evenly matched 1 v 1

Saw the first two seasons. Haven't seen the 3rd yet. Worth a view?

I loved that series from start to finish, but imo Gods of the Arena was the best season. It was just perfect. At 6 episodes it was all killer no filler, the fight scenes were much improved from the first season, it had plenty of titties and debauchery, and it had great characters including my favourite of the whole series: Batiatus. I feel like he stole every scene he was in and the show lost a lot without him, although obviously he couldn't remain on the show after season 1. I would watch the shit out of more prequel seasons.

Final Season was the best.

I couldn't get through the first episode. Seems like it has a strong following, tho.

The show died with Whitfield. Liam is just a terribly stiff actor.

The second half of the first season is the best television I've ever seen, though.

The final season was fucking awful.

The whole series is worth a watch but seasons 1 & 2 are must see tv.

seen it love the show

also the characters of gannicus and ashur were very well written

For me I doubt there will ever be a show as perfect for my tastes. Breaking Bad was great but for different reasons. I have not ever seen a show like Spartacus.
