Thoughts on this list?

I'd personally have the prequel ones a bit higher vs. the newer ones. I was a little surprised to see Force Awakens so high up

Only Rogue One was okay in the new ones.
Hated #8 so much that I haven't watched anything star wars related since.

not even tv series.

All these websites are paid for by Hollywood. That being said, They're all average to below average films. That's not to say I didn't love them as a kid. They definitely speak to something in young people. Best to go back and watch The Hidden Fortress and read Campbell's A Hero with a Thousand Faces and cut out the middle man.

Didn't even think about the newer films. Wouldn't even count them as Star Wars.

IMDB is just a collection of movie fans and users of the websites, not critics or insiders. It's a pretty good measure of how the masses rate movies

Only 5 good ones worth anything

1.Empire
2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue One
5. Revenge of the Sith

All other movies not worth rewatching and very forgettable. A few of the series aren't terrible

Yeah, that's unfuckingbelievable.

If both movies arent good, then let the action and music tip the scales.

I have never wanted to rewatch ANY fight scene from the new trilogy.
Exactly. Phantom menace has some weak parts but they also have some awesome parts:

1. The best star wars sound track of any movie.
2. The best actors in lead roles. (Even if you like the original better, you have to admit that Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman are better actors than Hamill and Fisher.
3. The coolest villain ever in Darth Maul
4. The best lightsaber duel in any movie.

Now compare that to the Abrams trilogy, which has the following good parts:

1. The shit they copied/pasted from a new hope. (Which honestly isn't a strength, but it's the only reason people rate the force awakens highly).

2. Absolutely nothing else

I didn't want to say it in my OP and derail this thread, but honestly Phantom Menance might be my favorite SW movie after the original trilogy.

Yes, there is tons of corniness, but it's also quintessential SW. POD racing, great cast and characters, and as you say - the Duel of the Fates music and lightsaber battle is one of the best moments in the whole franchise.

The last duel with Darth Maul is probably the most epic fight in all of star wars, on par with the best moments of the original trilogy.

The JJ Abrams and the other dork trilogy has nothing that can even compare.

The Force Unawaken is garbage. That movie should be at the bottom with The Phantom Menace and the rest of Rey Palpatines saga

Had little Anakin Skywalker never been in that movie, The phantom menace would have been a lot better. Darth jar jar binks can stay

I think this graph illustrates how most people vote based on hype (Force Awakens) and blowback (first two Prequels) rather than the qualities of the individual films themselves.

The Force Awakens should be behind the ROTS

Empire Strikes Back is the GOAT. Correct.

Return of the Jedi is better than A New Hope. I'm tired of the whining about the Ewoks, the whole damn thing was made for kids. ANH has no Palpatine.

The Force Awakens was a great reboot, as a reskinned ANH, but Rogue One and Revenge of the Sith were better. Just look at the amount of debate asking the question, "Did Palpatine throw the fight against Windu?" generates. That's how great ROTS is.

Solo shits on The Last Jedi. It's a disgrace they're rated equally. In fact, The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are also far better than that pile of shit. But Solo might be the most underrated of all the movies.

The Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker are both at least 7 points too high. Two of the worst blockbusters ever made. Considering what they did to the franchise, they deserve negative points. If they had been brought to me as books, I would have reconsidered my position on book burning. Because I could have BBQ'd something with that paper. There's more value in it as tinder. The world would be a better place.
