Any suggestions for a finely made ball bearing speed bag swivel?
I've been looking at the RDX and Ringside steel swivels on ebay.

I have an Everlast one that works just fine. Wasn't that expensive either. One of the very few Everlast products I own that actually works well. To be honest.....I think practically all of the steel swivels are made the same. Some companies might use big words to talk theirs up commanding a higher price.

I just bought one of the Everlast ball bearing swivels. After looking through 20 or so other options I just went with it for the same reasons you suggested.
Thanks.

There are two main types of swivels that have different applications.

1) ball-bearing swivels: they are the fastest swivels, however, the bags float if you change it's direction (i.e., forward, forward, side).

2) ball and socket: they are slow, however, they keep a better rhythm.

You also have a locking swivel that is good for gyms, where, people steal the equipment. However, they are just a crapy version of the ball-bearing design.

EDIT: the only good ball and socket swivels are OLD everlast or custom made. Almost all of those youtube "speed bag experts" use a custom made ball and socket swivel.

I use a D ring swivel aka ball bearing swivel, I think it is the best type of swivel you can get. I never had direction change issues and they are smooth and transition well. Downside is they are the most expensive often retailing around 40 us.

I'm not a fan a fan of the ball and socket the movement doesn't feel smooth they are my least favorite.

The chain swivel offers good rhythm but they are noisy and they don't like a sudden change in direction, but I see them the most these retail around 20.
