Hi.
I'm a long time boxing fan and an awful """boxer""" myself, but never got beyond a casual.
I'm starting this thread because I believe some of the data might be interesting to some of you. Thanks in advance for the insight =)
I know boxing stats are... whatever. If you recall a fight from the top of your head, obviously I can reach for the data myself and save you the search on CompuBox.
I'm interested in stats happening on big fights between, let's say, two top tens ATM. Great stats against "cans" are not very relevant IMO.
I prefer reasonably "recent" stats instead of tall tales before TV. To be able to watch the fights you are pointing at.
#1 Career-wise, has Floyd the best +/- ever?* If not, who does? If he indeed has it, who comes close?
*+/- includes jabs or power punches only? I'm asking because a boxer that jabs constantly not strictly to land, but to put pressure or hide his following shots, would diminish his % landing stats enormously.
#2 Who are the most accurate (% landed) and evasive (<% opponent landed) boxers ever? As independent stats, not combining them in a +/-.
#3 As of today, they should be Jesse R (% landing) and Shakur (<% opponent landed), right?
#4 I'm interested on the most strikes landed / less strikes received (not necessarily combined, as in +/-) in big fights of as many weight classes as possible, knowing volume-wise a HW match and a flyweight match are very different.
#5 I've read the most punches landed in a 12 rd fight are 620 by Troy Dorsey vs Jorge Paez. And he lost. Was Jorge a top boxer, or this stat only portrays a freak show?
#6 I know Roy Jones went a round without getting hit a single time. Has this happened again?
Many thks!!
