What the Biden Administration did affected thousands of Americans and millions of people with whom they reached with their views. I don't think the government should be trying to push an agenda on a private company in this space, regardless, so instinctually I think it's fair criticism on Biden's fascist policy imo

But is there more of threat to the companies here than simply calling them up and cussing at them or "pressuring" them?

Like, the argument against Kimmel isn't that Trump wanted his show canceled or hated him or even wanted him off the air. The argument is that the government (at least optics-wise) was willing to flex its regulatory authority to hold up mergers and licenses.

I'd feel better about this story if these companies detailed what exactly they were being threatened with. And if the answer is just broad pressure and no direct threats were made, I still don't think that's okay, but it's more fascist/unethical than illegal imo.

The best I can see from all this is that someone at the Biden admin cussed at facebook employees.

What was the actual threat to use government power to get anything accomplished? What government power was threatened to be exercised?

Sounds more like to me these tech companies are just bending to the Trump regime's will here and saying things they want them to say.

Most of what I've seen were lawful requests for compliance with the tech sites own ToS.
