She's tremendous, that scene alone with Parker and Lambert having a conversation is oscar worthy imo.

Show her acting chops in that scene.

Prime Weaver was a babe in her own right. I believe she was a runway/fashion model earlier in life too.


As for the performance.. the Ripley character is one of my all time favorite film roles and I can’t picture anyone else doing it. I actually don’t think it’s a groundbreaking performance as much as it is the right person for the right role. Sigorne is believable in her role as a confident and strong character who is smart and resourceful. She doesn’t have to sell it and I think part of that is just her presence and the type of natural charisma she has.


In other words she’s a believable hero, and believable as someone who would get respect from her peers -the writing doesn’t need to try and force you to buy into it.


And for what it’s worth, yeah I think she’s a good actress too for what she does. I don’t think she’s incredibly layered or dimensional but she carries herself well in most roles I’ve seen her in because she just has something ‘boss’ like naturally.

Usually I find really lame Hollywood's traditionally woke attempts to make on occasion skinny women with big tits the macho heroes of action films, but Weaver's performance was so good and so believable that for a while anyway I curbed my male prejudice against women in this matter. But it's back.

Gave it a 9. Its basically a flawless performance in an all time classic movie, but the only reason it isn't a 10 is simply because the role itself isn't really the kind of part where a 10 is possible. She does everything perfectly, but the role isn't going to stretch an actor to the limits of what they can do.
