Hi, I have not seen any review of any shock doctor mouth guards ( if there is I couldn't find it ).
I have seen a lot of protech reviews but I can't wait 7 months for it to arrive ( I live in Saudi Arabia ). and I think that the price is over rated>
I am looking at the Shock Doctor GEL MAX Mouth Guard, any one tried it?

A shockdoctor should be fine for jiu jitsu gi or no gi and for light MMA (training, maybe sparring, but probably not a fight). Really, just about any (properly fitted) mouthguard should be enough to protect against damage in just about any situation aside from absolute full contact MMA fights.

Worst mouth guard I have ever used, I have an under bite, its not really an under bite its just that my teeth are on top of each other rather than the lower teeth under upper. I use a simple mouth guard right now, i am a heavy weight yeah sometimes I am uncomfortable with hard punches but with the shock doctor my teeth were going to fall out, it did not feat in my mouth plus I would get cuts inside the mouth which later on would be mouth sours. Basically if u can get a good mouth guard get it, if u can't stay away from shockdoctor.

If you have the money try to get a custom guard... That is in my opinion the best way to go. But, a bnb might work really well for you. You might as well try out a bnb for starts. Since they're only like $15. Personally mine falls out a lot which in no good.

the main problem with any BnB, I'm not singling any out, is that they do not adequately cover the vestibule (protects the whole tooth, even the part you can't see in the gum), which is just over the gum line, besides protection, they have a tendency to fall out occasionally...

I have used Shock Doctor to guard my grill for years and have all my teeth. I am sure it doesn't compare to custom pieces, but you get what you pay for. As far as boil&bites go, I think Shock Doc is one of the better brands.

Of course the best mouth protection is to not get hit! :icon_chee
