Yeah, I've mentioned this a few times on this board, but in the mid 90's I trained at a gym owned and operated by Eddie "Flash" Newman. Sensi Peoples was a close, personal friend of his and every now and again Peoples would come by the "dojo" and show a few moves or participate in sparring. I realize he's a joke when it comes to MMA, but for real, the man is a pretty damned fine traditional martial artist.
Edit:
That's Eddie Newman in the middle and and Peoples on the right.
Edit 2: From Newmans website:
"As a young man, Flash grew up in the time of martial arts legends. He admired the “Greats”; Mr. Ed Parker Sr., Mr. Willy Brown, Master Gary “Rabbit” Goodman, Master Cecil Peoples, Master Jerry Smith and his father Master Steve Sanders a.k.a. Master Steve Mohammed. "
Funny enough, that stupid hand/knee thing was how each of our sparring sessions was put into motion.. kind of like a visual cue for the command "fight." haha It was just typical, run of the mill stuff at our gym.
