As an active Jiu-Jitsu competitor and coach the rules of sport Jiu-Jitsu are absolutely retarded & many of the athletes are just as McDojo and delusional as Akido, Wing Chun, or any other bullshit martial arts you can think of.

The sport does not incentivize takedowns, escapes from bottom positions back to standing or reversals & they do not penalize stalling nearly enough. It's an extremely flawed sport.

I trained with the Gracies in Torrance for a few years, so I am biased towards them and jiu jitsu.

That said, they have not evolved their style for MMA at all, over the years.

The sport has passed them by.

It's a fun style to learn, but it needs some updating.

So is his athleticism, it seems. He looks slow and pretty uncoordinated. I mean I’d expect random father of two to look that way in his beginners class on thursday evenings, but the guy is a combat sports veteran and a BJJ champion. Weird.

Also, Kron had an atrocious game plan. Jumping into guard? Of all possible ways to scramble into a grappling position, that is what he chose to do? Just bad all around. Bryce did a good job in slamming him with the elbow across the neck. Made him pay big time.

The guy went up to Montana and started his own gym around COVID.

Not sure what training he has done since then, but my guess is he is just trying to fight out his contract.
Hopefully see him back in grappling having some success.

It’s sad because years ago, Kron proved his BJJ was beyond legit, super elite world-class level. Then we saw him training boxing and mma with the Diaz brothers; now after all that he comes in looking like shit? That is sad if only based on what Kron has invested into an mma run.

You can't have 7 fights total MMA experience at 36 years old and come out of retirement to fight someone ranked.
