Idk who watched the DWCS last night but this guy Sedriques Dumas has the potential to be a huge star. He was raised in the hood and came from nothing. Has a dope name and looks like a soundcloud rapper while also being very skilled as a fighter. Comes off as very genuine and humble too. He's 7-0 with 6 finishes and destroyed Jiri Prochazka's training partner last night that had over 60 kickboxing fights with ease. 6'3" 185lbs, has a vicious high kick and slick submissions.

Here's the finish. Dude said he doesn't even use it much and executed it perfectly.

Post fight interview

Here's some other highlights.Sleeps this dude with his high kick at 2:50.

Really enjoyed this kid.
I made the mistake of betting against him last night based on his look. Rooting for him big time now; seems super nice and appreciative and has only been training for 5 years and he deuced on homie last night!

It's not too often when I see someone and think they could be a huge star but this guy has it. Could bring in the younger audience too which Dana will love. Of course they have already had the full send guys interview him.

MW needs new blood so hopefully so.

But if he’s really from the hood and has no martial arts background he’ll probably run into his ceiling when he meets wrestlers.
He seems to have plenty of comfort with his own takedowns and strong hips+long arms that he uses for front chokes.
Good combo for sprawl n brawl against ground fighters. He seems intelligent actually and didn't try to ego-trade with Jiri's kickboxing protege and instead worked a takedown and caught the sub on the scramble even though he has a bunch of striking wins.

He looks to have strong hips and sunk that high elbow guillotine in easily. Wrestlers don't want none of that

I picked Penaz. Dumas looked like he'd been can crushing while Penaz had slightly better competition and seemed a proper prospect himself.

Then there were the criminal accusations which I'm assuming have evaporated now?

Dumas looked good. Huge, rangey guy. Nice skillset, black O'Malley look (soundcloud/tiktok vibes that Dana can market visually) and definitely seems to have something.

It'll be interesting how he gets matched up. Joseph Holmes looked decent on this show (not AS impressive but still) and got found out on his UFC debut against an unremarkable journeyman.

They've already given Pyfer Amedovski, the ultimate "debut opponent" to get the confidence building.

I'm thinking the Pickett/Tiulin winner. But Dumas smashes either on this evidence.

Wicked nickname too!

I was thinking why doesn't the other guy just drop to his back. I think Dumas had too strong of a grip

Yeah could be something special for sure. Has a lot of natural talent

Phil Hawes is as bad a stylistic fight as I can think of - so if he faced Hawes and blasted him, he could very well be legit.

So far, so good, but I need to see these prospects get tagged and see how they do.

Yeah I had thought his opponent had better record/training background and that would shine in this fight vs. a guy who seemed to have been winning off athletics vs. weaker folks.
But I was wrong and he just seems like a savage who goes for it.
Interested to see his tank

Yeah that choke was locked and they were relatively fresh.

Exactly the same thought
I thought Penaz was equally big, strong, better competition and training and he'd smash this big lanky can crusher

How wrong I was. He seems very composed and calculating too which is rare for the regional guys.

Very interested. Agreed, be good to see him against a Pickett who isn't good really but has UFC wins and good cardio.

I know it's just the eye test, but Dumas looks like a guy who wouldn't gas after one round. Lean as fuck.

Yeah definitely doesn't seem like a Rd1 Gasser, but I wonder if he has that deep grappling tank and/or lactics up big if he meets someone hard to finish while going for it.

Assuming he trains his butt off now that he made the UFC, he does seem physically gifted enough to have a lot of training-developed tank.

That's why he's gonna be intrigued watch innit. There aren't many pure wrestlers at 185lbs. There's a few submission wizards who have questionable gastanks themselves.

He won't be fighting a Vettori for 2yrs probably and by then, he could be Vettoris hell on earth, who knows.

Great prospect to follow now!
