As far as changes this is what they have been saying since Coker took over. Tournaments stay gone, which to me is a good thing considering contestants were arbitrary and crappy fighters won in weak fields. Reduce to monthly format, which is only good if they truely focus on building strong contenders. They have to make surewvwry event has a title fight and that top prospects are featured against name journeymen and gatekeepers. No more PPV (for now), this is just a testament that their first PPV was a financial flop. It may have done decent PPV buys floating around 100k but the capital it took to get there was likely outrageous and it most likely lost money.
Not many crappy fighters won Bellator tournaments. The fields at 170 and down (185 wasn't terrible either) were not filled with weak fighters. They were guys with the same (or better) records than you see on a lot of these UFC undercards OR Fightnight main cards. UFC could obviously do something worthy of being called a "Grand Prix" and Bellator really never could, but it is rewriting history and trying to influence people incorrectly to say that crappy fighters won Bellator tournaments and the fields were all weak. That is not just incorrect, but a LIE.
Also, Coker leaves the door open for tournaments right at the beginning. He likes them, and so do the fans.. But he probably wants a couple higher level guys in wtevr tournament he does in the future.
