I was going to write before 1960 but I wanted to include a few titles. Here's a few...

The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari
Nosferatu
Black Sunday (Mario Bava)
Psycho

Speaking of Invasion of the Body Snatchers I really like The Body Snatcher. Boris Karloff was such an underrated actor.

I don't know about scary, but I find the following of that genre quite entertaining

The horror of Dracula
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde 1931
Hound of the Baskervilles 1959
The curse of Frankenstein
The revenge of Frankenstein
Curse of the werewolf
The wolfman 1941
Black Sabbath 1963

There is another I can't think of. Maybe it'll come to me.

Love Hammer Horror. Amicus was pretty good also.

I've heard stories of people being scared when they saw films like Dracula and King Kong originally in the theater when they were made. When I watch old Horror Films I try to create a time in my mind where nothing exists after the film I'm watching to try to recreate the feeling someone must have had when they originally viewed it. Psycho is a good film for this.

I'm watching Black Sabbath right now, which is from the early 60s. It's entertaining.
