Which do you think is more effective for dehydrating yourself to make weight and why?

I personally haven't had much success with a salt bath.. I would say the sauna is obvious winner here because you can shadow box/jumping jacks/jump rope to help raise the heart rate to, in return, sweat.

I do both, but in the sauna you have an immediate guage to tell you how much weigh you are losing. I have to cut aout 12kg 6 times per year, and every time I always try to epsom salt bath immediately before sauna. I have found the bath heats my core up quicker and the sauna go's are much easier at that point.

I use hot baths all the time to help me make weight for BJJ comps. I regularly use them to maintain my weight within 2 or 3 kilos of my limit.

I use 3 kilos of salt and the hottest bath I can get in, then stay there for upto an hour. Every 5 mins adding more and more hot water. I enjoy saunas and steam rooms and jacuzzis. But I can do the hot bath at home, and on the morning of the comp if I need to.

Bath is the winner for me!

3Kg of salt? That might have been where I was going wrong then I was using 250g of salt. Also aren't you someone pretty well known on the UK BJJ/mma scene I seem to remember from another account and lifetime ago though I can't remember exactly.
