They're two different styles. The Sandee ones are better off used exclusively as striking ones in Muay Thai/kickboxing sparring whilst the Fairtex ones are for MMA, they're more flexible and allow for grappling, but from what I understand the protection isn't as good as striking ones.

My advice is go with top king ones, they're exceptional. I've had mine for 6 months and if you go with genuine leather like I did, there won't be a complaint about them at all. Protect my shin perfectly and my partners don't feel anything.

If you can get top kings anything with solid straps supporting it with an extra layer of padding along the shin and you can't go wrong in my book. The extra padding makes a huge difference, you can feel the impact a lot more from pads that don't have it.

dgoldberg, i'll say it again. fuck off and stop advertising.

I like sandee because the sandee shin pads made of cowskin leather but fairtex shin pads made of synthetic leather.

I have personally used the Fairtex Neoprene ones. They are great. Provide great protection, contrary to what some may think. They actually provide very good protection to the point where you probably won't feel a thing when kicking.

If you plan on going into mma also then without a doubt, buy the Fairtex ones. I would pick the King shinguards over the Sandee ones personally if you don't want the Fairtex Neoprene ones. As said before, the Sandee shinguards and King ones are more for straight thai where as the Fairtex ones are also great for thai but also great for mma.
