Nice pic, now since you guys love stats so much why dont you tell me the percentage of homicides via bat beatings, stranglings, and knife stabbings to that of guns and you might have something that resembles a point.

Yes about 67 percent of homicides are by gun it's the an efficient tool both for the legal and illegal. Homicides by gun 2011 8,583.
Speaking of numbers, guns are used between 1.5 and 2.5 million times a year in the US for self defence.
Thanks for that. So can we agree its beyond silly and downright intellectually dishonest to compare guns homicides to stranglings, stabbings and bat bludgeonings?
It depends on what you are comparing, like the number of times guns are used to murder verses the number of times the are used for self defence.
Dead is dead no matter what was used to murder the person.
True, but lets not be dumb here and be baffled on why people would want to target guns and not those others weapons when it accounts for the largest percentage of homicides in the country. Its clearly not at all equal in terms of usage. If it was we would be hearing about mass stranglings and bat beatings by gang members in the south side of Chicago that left 10 people dead.
Those same people don't want to admit the number of times guns are used as they should for self defence, hunting, and other sports. They don't want to admit the responsibility to be the first responder falls to the victim by law and nucessety. They don't want to see the second amendment as the foundering fathers meant it.
I honestly dont get how any of this relates to my post at all.
"People want to target gun" guns are bad and we need to outlaw them is the cry but they never admit the good the guns do.
I get what your'e saying, but my post had nothing to do with whether guns are good or bad or whether going after them is the right solution to the problem. It was along the lines of any one who can read and understand basic stats about what weapon is used most often in homicides would realize why the gun is targeted so much as opposed to bats, knives and things used to strangle to people. Let's not take the usual route and turn this into the usual dead horse gun debate.
Yea but it
So you're trolling?
Congrats. You're the same as the people you proclaim to be "the usual suspects".
Not trolling just trying to keep things interesting and talking.
Okay there Big__D :icon_chee.
You're not usually one of the crazy people when it comes to the "pro-gun" side, ya must be pretty bored.
I missinturped you post then. I have no problem with the numbers but I think we need more criminal control and not more gun control to reduce the homicide rate.
