Sakakibara has always wanted to promote some boxing fights. This dates back to the PRIDE days. Now he has the chance to do it and he's taking advantage.

Japan has a long history of inviting world famous boxers/fighters over for fights/events against Japanese fighters/pro wrestlers. Several Japanese pro wrestling/MMA/kickboxing orgs of consequence have held these types of events, since at least Ali/Inoki in the 70s. Yes, the Japanese crowd does love this stuff.
