Movies Ryan Coogler's SINNERS (Breaks Oscars Record with 16 Nominations, post #393)

If you have watched SINNERS, how would you rate it?

At least Black Panther wasn't nominated for every award at the fucking show. The Oscars have always been "political," but not in this way, to this extent/extreme. At best, Sinners is a worse From Dusk Till Dawn. That's its ceiling. But saying that doesn't just make one vulnerable to charges of having bad taste, it makes one vulnerable to charges of being a racist. That's the definition of adding insult to injury.

The only good thing to come from this is acknowledgment of the awesomeness of Delroy Lindo.

I been a mark for that dude ever since I saw him in Congo, he was so great as the general in that movie

The voting dynamics have significantly changed in the past 5 years.
The 16 nominations for Sinners is very unrealistic.
However, do expect Sinners to walk away with most significant Oscar categories.

It is not a very good movie and has a lot of very real faults. It starts off really good but it doesn't know what it is.

Only way this makes sense is if there is a Best Sticking the Tongue in the Cooze Dialogue category.
