I currently and have been training gi jiu jitsu my full bjj carrer(a little over a year) and someday hopefully i will train at a 10th planet school, there just isn't one close enough to me and i am happy with my gym so far. I was wondering if anyone here uses any rubber guard techniques or solely uses rubber guard with the gi on? If not why do people never do this when it seems to be pretty effective when used correctly?

i dont use rubberguard but i feel like the "zombie" which is crucial to effective rubberguard use would be pretty much impossible to do with a gi because of the friction. ive also heard that rubberguard in the gi can be passed very easily. i would save rubberguard for no gi

Rubber guard, in gi, is an invitation to have your guard passed if not done well and if you aren't really pushing for the omaplata.

I wouldn't use rubber guard in the gi like bravo teaches it. it's way easier to just get an armdrag and work that high guard armbar

This, I am super flexible, and can do the RG pretty easily/well. But the thing is, I only catch people in the transition with it. For instance they are passing to side over my right leg. if I can get my right foot on their hip in time, I can gogo them. If not, I am doomed.

Sorry for so many questions, but why is it easier to pass the rubber guard in gi then no gi? Wouldnt the friction of gi's play to your advantage?

zombie's don't really work when you can literally just grip onto a gi to completely nullify it
