So I was reading the Wikipedia page of Royce Gracie and stumbled upon this:
  • Most wins by submission in UFC history (Eleven)
Does this still hold or is it outdated information?

Without looking indepth I wouldn't be shocked if it were still true given that fighters attacking from their backs has pretty much died out in the modern era. The most obvious alterantive that comes to mind is Mir and he only has eight sub wins in the UFC.

Pretty sure it's still true, think Mir has the second.

Yeah pretty sure it's true.

Edit just checked and it is, Nate, Oliviera and Maia are next with 9, Mir with 8, Kenny, Cole Miller and Joe with 7

Man i hope so bad Demian Maia can get some more subs and take that record before retiring..
I don't really care against who, can be even bums with no ground game like CM Punk, i don't think he's fighting again for that WW belt so record of subs would be something nice, big fan

That's 6 more to beat the record before he retires, I doubt he has that many fights left in him.

But yeah I'd like to see him do it

Yea against guys who did not even know what Jui Jitsu was, he is the most overrated grappler ever, his real first MMA fight against an opponent who knew what he knew was against Matt Hughes and Matt beat the living hell out of him.

Remember Kimo smashing the shit out of him and then Royce grabbed onto Kimo's hair and pulled it for 5 minutes? If Kimo didn't have that pony tail, that would have been Gracie's last fight due to death. I have hated him ever since.

.. you really don't believe Shamrock and Severn had no clue about submission, do you? lol that's another lv of hating

To mean to be fair to Royce he was a natural WW by todays standards fighting HW's, someone like Kimo didn't need to be at his skill level to threaten him. It was really Sakuraba that clearly showed his time had passed, roughly the same size and he tooled him when Royce was still close to his physical prime.

I take nothing away from his jiu jitsu skill, the man was and is a legend. But basically ripping Kimo's scalp off really turned me against him. I cried tears of joy for Saku the Gracie Hunter.
Cheers
