Ray Arcel trained both Benny Leonard and Roberto Duran.
When asked his opinion on the better of the two,he leaned towards Leonard,due mainly of the fact Roberto had not quite come into his prime at the time.

This. No offense to the guy who played Marlo but he was pretty damn emotionless during his part. I just can't see him accurately portraying SRL's charisma and personable attitude.

33 year old Gael Garcia Bernal, he was in Babel and the Motorcycle Diaries. I googled it but I figured he was the guy from Motorcycle Diaries ... they have like one latin A star in the who southern half of the US.

This could easily just be a movie geared toward Latin America, not a major block buster like the Fighter. Deniro has been in some slock in his time, add in Usher and that Peurta Rican rapped obviously added in for name recognition and its shaping into something extremely tacky. Chances are we won't even hear about it in the West.
