...Share the same kind of humble personality.

He's an easy kid to root for after watching some of his interviews and seeing the respect he shows for everyone. If he wins the belt and starts successfully defending it, do you see the same kind of hate towards him that Fedor gets on here because people liking the nice guy? Sherdog is unpredictable sometimes with their love/hate.

Really hope that Whittaker will not:
- go deep to the politics and try to dictate his views on the whole sport;
- become a fanatic Christian and will bring his pastor to the training team;
- refuse to evolve his game and spar with fighters on his level when needed due to a sheer pride;
- become a mysoginist;
- fight just for a salary, without any competitive fighting spirit

I like Whittaker much more for now.

Whitaker skills are already much more advanced and polished than fedors

Hard to compare for now...I've never seen him in a situation where he had to move the fight to the ground...

Could we stop puting fedor in any discussion when a fighter who actually is fighting the best wins...? Because like it or not but Fedor ran away from the competition unlike Mirko and when fighting good competition he went 0-3.... For those fedor cult goers ask you this simple question : How would Mirko be regarded today if he would have Fedored out (chicken out) and fought UFC reject and Brett rogers in strickefore... He would have been seen as the #2 GOAT.... Think about it.
Unlike Fedor, Mirko fought in the top competition (UFC) did badly but got lot of respect for doing so... Unlike Fedor, Mirko did not find any excuse to not fight Overeem.... Fedor fraud

I honestly feel like religion was the downfall of Fedors fighting career.

Hahahahahaha. The haters are getting more and more retarded.

Not just that.
The monk did not tell him not to evolve as a fighter.

Oh...wait...maybe he told Fedor that evolution does not exist! Now that makes sense :)

Among other things, religion definitely ruins fighting careers. Look at Pacquiao. He was an absolute monster until he became a born again Christian. Still did ok, but he's not been the same and hasn't scored a single stoppage win since then.

"Mathmetician"
Yeah. Great contribution to the topic. Basically, you cannot even debate with me about the points I raised.

I would but I literally dont know where to start. Id imagine it would be easier describing the color blue to an infant with downs.

Mysoginist... Spot on?

Yes.
He had a lot of quotes about women place in MMA and sports overall, about women place in society.
His relations with wives (1st, 2nd, 1st again) is also something that indicates...something else.

- He promotes Russia and Russian projects. He is not "deep" in politics. He is just very respected in Russia, because combat sports athletes are like superstars there, so he can reach a large audience and wants to make a positive impact. And be a good role model and representative of his country.

- This I agree, biggest part of his downfall has been having these leaches and yes-man around him that use him for their own good. Russia (and other former Soviet countries) have become more religious since the collapse of the Soviet Union and don't really see this as a positive. Religious groups are just used to control people with fear and keep them dumb.

- Also agree with this, only don't agree that it is because of pride. Otherwise he wouldn't be making trips to Holland for his training camps to train with fighters there. He really wants to develop Russian MMA, and more than anything, he wants to help other Russian fighters grow. That's why surrounds himself with Russian fighters, but this way he never got the chance to continue to develop. I have to say though, Russian MMA has been developing at a crazy pace the last couple of years. A lot of top fighters will appear in the next decade from Russia.

- He doesn't hate women, he has a bunch of daughters for crying out loud. He just doesn't think women should be punching each other in the face, he's an old fashion guy. Lot of people like that.

- Definitely not fighting just for a salary. He lives in Stary Oskol and he kind of owns that town if you know what I mean. He has a lot of influence in that Oblast (region/province). Don't think he is hurting for money at all, just enjoys the competition. He is an extremely competitive person.

He squashed amateur leagues that did not want his exact set of rules.
Taktarov had to say a lot about him and his approach - and this is just one example.

He never ever cared who he fights. Nothing competitive there.
Maybe not for the paycheck, but not in order to compete either. Just doing his job. And MMA is not supposed to be like that by definition.
