“Let’s do it. Whatever. Yeah, I don’t know. Like, if it’s a fight that gets presented to me, then it is what it is. Yeah, I think it’d be a good fight. I think he’d be a hard fight. I think he’s a phenomenal fighter. I think he has a lot of strengths. I think I have a lot of strengths. I think I’m a hard fighter for him just the same. And I’m quite good with my hands, can stuff a lot of takedowns. I’m hard to hold down. I’m squirmy, you see. Yeah, it’ll be an interesting fight. That’ll be a showstopper for sure. I’m sure it’ll get a lot of people interested and excited.

“The reason why it would be a fight that’s worth making is because he’s riding the hype train, and because UFC want to bring this guy, who’s the boogeyman to a lot of guys, up in the rankings. They want him to fight me at the top of the chain so that it opens the door to whoever wins, and then jump behind. That’s the only reason it makes sense.”

He also mentioned earlier that he doesn't know exactly when he'll be fighting, but knows UFC has some plans for him. Not a lot of other interesting new points in this interview. He got asked about Pereira Izzy like he often does, and give the same usual answers.

Who do you guys favor in this match up?

Rob definitely is huge step up from Khamzats last opponents, and can skyrocket him for next title shot right away, however Rob is very tricky opponent and Khamzats fighting style fits him very well. If both are healthy let them bang.

Honestly think Khamzat should earn a Rob fight by actually fighting some ranked MW's, but when the #2 guy is waiting for #1 to fight the champ, and he's already beaten #'s 3, 4, and 5, no one else really carries the kind of hype or placement to justify it, except Kham.

It's not like any top 5 LHW's could be dropping down soon

Khamzat is a very good fighter but the hype is over the top. I'd love to see this fight. I think Whittaker wins it. The first round is probably very competitive but after that it's all Rob. Book it Dana!

This is exciting fight. Khamzat might be a bit faster standing, but Rob has tricks and is a very smart fighter. Khamzat has shown holes in his game during fight with Durinho, and his cardio is suspect, so yeah, lets make it happen!

im not sure he’s a better or bigger wrestler than guys rob has defeated, but he’s younger.

I think they need to feed him a less diverse MW in Vettori or even Till before a contender.

but let’s see

A hype fight. I would welcome. Khamzat setting a high goal with this one but might as well shoot for the top while hot.
