RIP Chuck Schuldiner (5/13/67-12/13/01)

I remember when they were trying to raise money for his cancer treatment. Heartbreaking shit. RIP.

I dont listen to Heavy Metal/Metal.

But I can definitely respect the shit out of it. And enjoy watching some of the instrumentals. Im more into the Jam Band scene/Funk/Jazz..

And as for Metal guitarist and bassists... They really fit into Jazz for me.
Its like high tempo jazz.. On major amounts of cocaine. Good shit.

I'm not into death metal vocals but agree with the rest of your post. The technical aspect of the musicianship cannot be ignored. This may sound lame but its even more impressive when you see a guy like Chuck playing an intricate guitar piece while singing at the same time. It's tougher than people think.

Day late, but RIP Chuck.

and of course:

I was thinking about it, and I realized that I cannot believe that The Sound of Perseverance came out almost 15 years ago! It really does not feel like it has been that long.

True, people who don't play instruments don't realize things like that.

Time for some chuck

Human is the shit. WIsh i could have seen Gorguts open for them back in the day. RIP Chuck and RIP Steeve.

Always thought his Stealth was one of the cleanest guitars around.

Check out his release with Control Denied too. Basically sounds like later Death but with clean vocals.

Wow, hard to believe it's been that long. He's truly one of metal's greats.
