Rickson Gracie vs Francis Ngannou prime for prime

Rickson has shitty wrestling and striking.

I know this is a meme, but what weight class would Rickson actually compete in?

Pretty sure he was like a 170lber no?
 
Yeah, Rickson was a fantastic grappler, but he held his chin high, had really mediocre wrestling and TD skills and dodged every legitimate threat that ever challenged him leading up to his son's death. Ngannou has a much better chance of finishing prime Rickson than vice versa. You also have to think that Rickson wasn't very big. He would have big trouble with most LHW's much less any of the HW's just due to physicality. He'd be hainging onto a leg getting travis browned to death or jabbed into oblivion and that's a best case for him. We have weight classes for a reason and no, the dog and pony show the Gracies trotted out does not negate them. There's a reason he ducked Bas and Saku and Ruas. His son died after all those fights had fallen through or not even been attempted and has been used as an excuse for years but its BS. He would be destroyed by Ngannou.

He would have been a middleweight. When he was competing he was 185-190. Sakuraba was slightly taller than him too. Dude was not a big guy.

After about 10 minutes in a no time limits or rounds battle, Ngannou would get tired, then Rickson takes him down and chokes him out.

Yeah but did he cut weight? Pretty sure he walked around at ~180-183 so he easily could have cut water to Welterweight. But I'm unsure if he cut or not. For that documentary tournament he obviously didn't cut weight. I don't think he ever did

It could certainly happen, but I seriously seriously doubt Rickson could last 10 minutes until Ngannou was tired.
