I did it a couple times with cassettes back in the 80's, never bought the additional tapes though so its probably still on my credit report somewhere

Columbia House. I still remember some of the CDs I received from it. 12 for a penny. I remember getting the mail and my mom flipped... She knew how much cd's cost and couldn't believe I was getting CDs for free. She thought I was running some sort of scam, lol.

Anyway, everything was all good till like a month later when I got another package from them. I opened it up cause I thought it was some bonus disc. Turns out it was a fucking Trisha Yearwood cd I never ordered. Selection of the month haha. They sent me that plus a bill of like twenty some odd bucks. Turns out there was a slip you had to send back within an ex amount of days or they keep sending and billing you for selections of the month.

I'm pretty sure I still have that selection of the month somewhere, lol.

Dang, just looking at this brings so many good memories back.

Had (sort of still) have a big crush on Mariah Carey, so I collected anything that had her face on it back then. I'm pretty sure I kept one of these, but it had her Daydream album picture on it.

i did it .. i got the cd's and they just locked you into a monthly cd purchase. So I had to call and cancel that but otherwise was legit.

Same... I did it like 6 times a year. Each time it was like 12 CDs for $1 and then you had to buy one legit CD for like $20 and then you cancel. So, it was something like 13 CDs for $21ish.

I probably bought 200+ CDs like that.

BMG was 12 cds for the price of 1. I used 8 or 9 of my relatives names all addressed to my house. Funny part was it was only me, my sister and my mom and dad there

These cds would start to fall apart really easily too. I remember these cds would burn out faster than regular cds.

Hell yes I remember. There was Columbia house and 1 more I cant think of the name. Use to sell them at school for $5 a pop. Had an account in both my parents and sisters names. I made a killing.

No shit? Didn't even think that'd be possible. Did they use their own shitty in house manufacturing or something?

Columbia House! I remember how exciting it was to finally get my cassettes in the mail…of course I was too young to have a job then, so when it came time to pay for the remaining ones my old man had to take care of it. he wasn’t too happy lol

my sister convinced my mom to do this when i was younger. it was well known at the time to be a scam and my mom was in complete shocked she was scammed into a monthly bill. my best friends mom went hard with someone elses information delivered straight to her house, buddy had all that good stuff we listened to megadeth, maiden, slayer. etc.. i didnt get shit from it when my mom did it. bunch of bryan adams and madonna, all the stuff her and my sister wanted.

Was it BMG or Columbia House who had the stamps?
